I really need to cut out the implant but I don't want people to see. And I don't have the right blade. I feel so frustrated.

I'm sorry you're so stressed out.

I hope you managed to stay safe, cutting yourself is not a good idea under any circumstances.

Is there anyone you can talk to about feeling like this?

I'm scared the implant will be ripped out my neck during my MRI which would be dangerous so I think I should cut it out, that would be safer, right?

Can you talk to the doctors or nurses about your worries?
They can probably reassure you better than I can.

But no. Casting aside my doubts re the existence of any such an implant, you have no idea what you are doing there, it is a hard to access area, you can do some really serious and permanent damage that way, you would probably do it secretly too, which means nobody would be able to give immediate medical help.
*If* anything bad at all happens during the MRI at least you'd be in a hospital or something *surrounded by people who know how to help you*.

I don't know how to say it more nicely, but I get where they are coming from.

For now all you need to focus on is that getting the MRI is safe for you and you will not get hurt doing it.

It's ok to talk about your fears. If you keep them inside they'd just get bigger. I think it was important and brave of you to be honest about your concerns.

My mum helped me cancel my MRI, I decided it was too stressful. I'm not going for the EEG either.

Been mulling. If the Organisation put the implant in, why would they want me to have an MRI that might remove it? This is very confusing.

On the other hand, an MRI and EEG would be looking at my brain and sending waves and generally interfering. And I couldn't possibly take my hat off for that long without freaking out. I hate having to take it off just to do my hair.

That sounds really confusing for you! It's tricky to know what to say because I personally don't think it sounds plausible that anyone or anything could have got an implant into your neck, but I know that your belief is very different.

I'm guessing the MRI and EEG were to investigate the seizures you've been having- do you think in the long term you'd like to work towards being able to rebook them and feeling ready to have them? I'm wondering if an MRI might actually be able to reassure you about the implant, as even though that's not what they're looking for, they'd surely spot something like that!

The EEG people said I can book again when I'm ready so that is a relief.

This is very stressful.

I am so cross with CMHT. My sister is really unwell and the CC just said oh well, when you feel better you can do volunteering. Thanks guys. She accepted the Crisis Team after talking to the very kind police people but that probably won't be until Friday.

Meanwhile my CC is not replying to texts or phone calls. I'll be generous and say he's on holiday or sick.

Ugh, her CC doesn't sound very useful =S Is she able to advocate for herself and say that she needs a bit more help than just "oh here's something you can do when you're feeling better"? I hope she has been seen by the crisis team by now and that they were helpful.

Hmm, that is generous of you! Can you contact the CMHT directly to see whether he is away at the moment? Surely you should be informed if your CC is suddenly ill or away!!

How are you getting on?

It sounds like you do know that throwing it away would be the wisest choice- here's my vote to go for it! You don't need it and it only creates temptation.

I'm not anxious but I can't stop thinking about hurting myself or cutting out the implant. What do I do?

Can you talk to someone at home about how you're feeling and maybe come up with a plan for something nice to do this evening to try to distract you through this urge?

I hope you can see from past evidence that hurting yourself or trying to cut out the implant is unlikely to be helpful in the long (and even short) term.

Thanks for the support yesterday Pi. I got through ok in the end. I had a rule in hospital that i couldn't SH without trying everything first, including PRN. So last night I didn't take PRN and so I didn't have permission to hurt myself. That probably doesn't make sense, and probably wouldn't work a second time.

That does make sense and I hope you can do it again if you are triggered. But also taking PRN might help. I guess that's a decision you'd have to make each time. How are you today?
