Just to add to the answer about Discord, it does now have forum style too (a more recent update).

So you join a server about Mental Health, a game, cats, whatever your interest. Within that server there are channels, and these - so similar to how you have the different forum topics in a forum, you can have channels for different chat topics.

With the new forum style, a channel can be a forum, and then threads can be posted within that forum channel. If someone wanted to they could set up a Discord server that was entirely forum channels instead of having any chat ones.

Obviously it's going to be dependent on how any particular server you might join is set up, but just good to know that the forum based style is an option on Discord now too.

Sorry to bump this but I have discovered a new website for young people - www.kooth.com . I haven't used it as I am outside their targeted audience
and I don't know anyone who has. I never heard of it before but if someone is on the younger side it may be useful. Unsure if it's UK only.

I very badly pretended to be from the areas they covered a long time ago. Back then it was mostly regular one to one support from a professional so I think it would be helpful to a lot of people.

Self harm network Scotland (link) - the helpline is just for people in Scotland but there's lots of info and tools that can be used by anyone. I don't think there's a forum so maybe it's not right for posting here but I'm doing it anyway just in case it's helpful.
