I pretty much read everybodys ranting threads on this site because I’m a nosy bastard, so I want peoples opinions.
Do you feel comfortable with someone pming you to ask if you’re okay if they read something concerning, or would you prefer people to not bother you? I always tend to message people, but I recently started panicking people don’t like it
I wouldn't mind a PM usually but if I feel like I can't interact I just say so. I have sent PMs based on R/Vs before but I know some people don't like getting PMs.
I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

I think it would depend. If it was from you or someone I've interacted with on here, I wouldn't mind. But if it was from someone random I've had zero interaction with or very little interaction with I would probably panic. That said I'd probably still panic anyways. That might not be useful.
Please do not give me virtual hugs unless you are only using the hug function on threads. Thanks.
You can't always keep it separate.
This is happening, this is part of you.
I only learnt recently that some people regard it as generally socially unacceptable for people to "reply" to rant threads by PMing, because if they wanted a reply they'd have made a support thread? Though I don't think it's always as simple as that because people might not want to make a thread and I know I would always be OK with receiving a PM about my RV. And judging by the responses here, I'm not alone in that!
So I've kind of toned down my enthusiasm for doing so, but I haven't ruled it out completely as an activity. And I guess if someone didn't like it, they could just not reply and you'd probably get the hint that they weren't keen?
Also, fun fact: I've genuinely read every post on every rant thread since about 2013 or so. It's become something of a compulsion and I don't think I could ever stop now!

Am I just so void of love

^ooh, I hadn't thought of that! I've seen people do so before and it's clearly well-intentioned, but that's a good point and we should probably be careful and not mention specfics.
I love attention so I am always down for getting a PM regarding my woe, especially if it is someone I am reasonably familiar and comfortable with!
As someone who has received such a message from you I really appreciated it and thought it was super sweet!
Ignore what Jenna said about not getting a reply being a hint to not message that person- I get somewhat flustered about the notion that people read my drivel and potentially even care about it. So it can be a bit overwhelming (in a good way!).
