Non Barcode Stamps Expire On 31st January
Just realised this thread existed so deleted my new thread on same topic and posted here instead.
Hello Everyone,
Just a friendly reminder for those in the UK that the Royal Mail are switching to Barcode Stamps and any regular stamps with Queen Elizabeth II on without a barcode expire on 31st January. Fancy picture stamps E.g. Christmas will remain valid.
You can either use them up on post before then (I know some of you love to send post) or print out a form stick your stamps to it and send it Freepost SWAP OUT to get sent new barcode stamps in exchange. The form can be found on Royal Mail's website as a PDF.

Still livid about this. Even watched the Shaun the sheep clip you got when scanning the barcode and it only made me 1% less cross. Waste of everyone’s bloody time.

Excuse me. If Shaun the Sheep is involved how can you be upset?

It's now been extended to the end of July so no need to use tons of stamps unless you need to.

The Royal Mail have been super misleading then Dawn. All over their website it says 31st January is last day you can use them.
Clever tactic attempting to soothe us with Shaun the Sheep, I have yet to get new stamps so haven't watched it yet.
I also have no idea how to scan barcodes or qr codes with my phone as I am old fashioned and don't get out much

Sorry :P It was a little Christmas clip so i don’t know if it’s different now. If i remember I’ll scan one in the morning and see. For further info- there’s a standard clip you see, unless the sender has chosen to record their own video in which case you see that. Which may sound cute but both parties have to have the royal mail app and if you’ve both got the technology for that then you’ve almost certainly got the technology to exchange videos if you so choose, without the need to overhaul the whole system with big bulky stamps.

Yeah, it’s not an ‘extension’ it’s a ‘grace period’. As in you’re supposed to have switched but presumably enough people have complained that they’re not going to penalise it for another six months but they must be sulking and not want to advertise the fact. Also on case you are interested and want to see if shaun the sheep will indeed soothe you, you have to download the royal mail app and then there’s an option to use your camera and hold it over the code and ta-da!

*summons Camden*
I just redownloaded the app and scanned a stamp to procrastinate tidying my desk and the video wouldn't even fricking load. I'm LIVID. Overhaul the whole system and then it doesn't even bloody work?????
Anyway, I did find the Shaun the Sheep Christmas clip on the web, so enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNPLXuXITgI

Off topic from stamps but I watched the Farmaggedon Shaun the Sheep movie on new years eve and it was awesome. I also saw the Farmers Llamas special over the holiday period which was very funny.
Also a Shaun the sheep went to space as a representative of the European Space Agency on the recent Artemis launch. Snoopy was NASA's teddy astronaut. https://www.esa.int/ESA_Multimedia/I...onaut_portrait

Just a quick bump just in case people haven't seen it plus a reminder that you have only until the end of the month to use any ordinary stamps. I found some 10p stamps the other week and sent them off as I am unlikely to use them before the end of the month.

Postcrossing is an website where you send a postcard to an random person anywhere in the world (the website picks out an random address). Once it's registered then you receive a postcard from another random person back. Both Jenna and I are members of the site.
