Usually a random range of stuff! I generally won't have sandwiches or wraps at home though, just in the week because it's easy and simple. So at the moment it's houmous and lettuce in a wrap. Or falafel and lettuce. But always lettuce. I just need something else to make it taste less leafy.

Vegan BLT? Using Quorn (or equivalent) ham?

Sorry my suggestions are so meat substitute heavy, I do have other ideas but they involve a fair amount of prep, which I know isn’t ideal.

Also for some variety would you be open to switching up the leaves occasionally? Maybe spinach or watercress/rocket?

You could take the lettuce out to make it less leafy

I read it as she used the lettuce as the "bread" to hold it together so I feel like that would not work? Perhaps I misread and that is one of those weird disordered american substitution things.

What a ghastly concept! I do hope it turns out to be fake news or I may need to rethink my plans to try to make friends with np!

Haha! No the lettuce goes inside the sandwich like you would expect! Maybe I didn't word it very well.

And I like the leafy stuff. It bulks out my lunch and is probably the only green thing I eat in a day.

I'm going to change it up next week and swap back to bread instead of wraps and maybe some sort of meat substitute.

While it was certainly uh... an experience, I cannot say I would recommend it.

It has mainly been an offering at restaurants that are very meat heavy, and where your only option of vegetarian, let alone vegan options are salad or veggie burger. And for some odd reason they had yet to make any of their bread vegan, so you got your veggie burger wrapped in lettuce. Then of course they offered it as the gluten free, carb whatever diety weirdness option too.

I am traumatized by this shaved cheese concept.

Cheese Research

I have completed my cheese research!! Please see attached srs bsns table.

I avoided the triggering and troubling issue of 'shaved cheese'.

Thanks to Camden, Lana, Lio and Finn for providing their international expertise.

ETA: I decided that Lana just didn't know how to write her own language, so correct grob to groß when apparently she didn't make a mistake. I sincerely state my regret for this.

I think it also important to mention that this also applies to non cheese items such as carrots for example.

I also enjoy the irony of a bunch of vegans conducting this research lol

I think I am going to try a couple of new soups soon. I have been getting sick of two of the ones I make regularly, and the new one I just tried did not work out. :(

I have recipes picked out but they will need modified as I apparently dislike all the main soup ingredients. Oops.

My mother thinks it is weird that I am still eating soup in the summer. I do not see why that would be weird. Soup is so simple to make and make vegan. Is liking soup wrong? Thoughts?

I've never heard suggestion that soup is only for the winter! If you like it then crack on, isn't your mum pretty silly anyway?

I don't like soup in general but I don't think it's more offensive in summer.
I live with someone who thinks savory pies are for cold weather only but I will eat them whenever anyway.
