Thank you ❤

Having a bit of a moment.
Can people just say optimistic **** to confirm I'm tough and capable enough to do this?

You can do this Lanabanana!!! Maybe break it down so you can face one step at a time- so instead of convincing yourself that you can do the whole thing, it’s just ‘well yes, of course I can pack up the living room’/‘easy easy, ‘course I can book one train ticket’ and so on.

Also this country ain’t gonna judge itself for being hideously inefficient, so you’ll need to come over here ASAP!

We may not see eye to eye, but we can respect each other's opinions and find the truth in them.
Perhaps in those honest conversations, instead of demonising each other,
we might see each other as imperfect humans, doing our best. ~ Jodi Picoult

I do feel a little better and slightly less overwhelmed right now.
Let's hope it'll last.

Thank you!

My optimism is a bit fickle at the moment.
So much to get done, but there is nothing I can do other than getting it done I guess.

You can do this!

I know I am going back to school this year too and what I am holding onto is that I would not have been accepted into the program if they didn't think I was capable of being there and meeting the requirements, both in terms of doing the work but also the outside school life stuff too. :P

That's a good way of looking at it!

Right now I'm mostly struggling with organizing giving up my flat and most of my belongings.
It's a bit much.

Flip side- if you do none of it then what’s the worst that can happen? What’s the minimal you can do?

Don’t know you but I know a lot of people who have replied and said you’ll smash this and I trust their judgement. I get practical shizzle seems overwhelming but would the world end if you did NONE of the stuff? I’m guessing not. So maybe try and look at it as everything you do manage is a positive but is not the end of the world if it takes longer than ideal.

The worst that could happen is that I still have my stuff in the flat when I have to hand it over to the landlady and then all of my stuff would be here while I live in a different country without my things.

Question - if you have to get rid of them regardless, and you give up the flat, then are they your things anymore? Or wouldn't you have thus given them up too?

I have been watching decluttering videos lately, and one thing that one of them said was "decide what to keep, let go of the rest." So if you think of it in that regards, all you need to do for now is work on what you are keeping and taking with you. Does flipping it to do that instead of working on what to get rid of make it seem any different? It's okay if not!

That had me laugh.
I like the way you think.
It's pretty much true I guess, even though obviously it still would need to get sorted.

I like that idea. I shall give that a try.

Thank you for asking ❤

I'm making progress and I'm very frustrated about still having so many things to do.
I just want to give up tbh.

Don't discount any progress you've made just because there's still things to do. That's still important to recognise.

Is there anything we can do other than cheer you on?

I think being patient with my woe & moaning is the best anyone can do right now :P

Plenty people reaching out and checking in with me, which is really nice ❤

My best friend came around tonight for moral support and whatever little practical help she could actually give.

I'm aiming to be done with organizing/sorting/packing in a few hours.
And tomorrow my brother will help me dropping boxes off at the charity shop etc.
I so want to be done with this.
