eta: seeing all the old names is really WEIRD and I do not like it. I shall put the thread on ignore, but also be annoyed because ignored threads do not stop you getting notifications that you have unread posts in that board.

They don't. I'm unsubscribed and ignored on multiple threads, but it doesn't stop me from getting the icon that there are unread posts in that board.

Oh, OK. I thought you meant you were subscribed to the thread and were looking at your subscribed threads notifications. If you click it, you just get a message that it's on your ignore list though right? You don't actually see the posts/posters?

Correct. It doesn't actually show up when I view the board either. So they are definitely ignored. I just still get the new post icon and have to click mark all as read to make it go away.

I'm now curious as to your RYL routines Camden! Do you read every single thread to make the bold "unread" font go away or are you a regular "mark all forums read" kinda person?

I read most threads, except for the ones I have on ignore. Then mark the forum read. Except RV. I don't read them often if at all so that one always has unread threads in it.

Honestly I do it partly to look out for spam/ zombie threads / triggering stuff that breaks rules to report. There's not usually very many to read, but I know the mods (i.e. you, Jenna) are busy so I figure it's a good way to help out.

Oh interesting! And that's very kind of you, you are a star post reporter! *awards gold star*. Also since about 2015ish I've had a rule that I read every RV post (unless it's a poem or song lyrics) so between us, I think we read everything...

It always baffles me when others make posts in support threads about having read someone's RV. I just... don't. I assume those are more personal, private spaces and if someone wanted support for something they would post about it in a support board. Maybe I am wrong.

Also it's not that much reading. For example just now when I logged in there are maybe 2 unread threads. So I'm not spending hours a day on this or anything.

But do read every rv.

I have, on occasion, posted song lyrics but only a few lines/a verse because ain't nobody got time to read ad entire songs worth of lyrics.

I don't use RV anymore, but I guess a PM would be fine. I wouldn't like someone posting about it on support boards though unless I brought it up first.
