You see I go through stages of liking different songs the most. At the moment I love Roses in the Hospital and La Tristesse Durera although to be fair I've loved those songs since they came out. I also love the Heavenly version of You Love Us and Mausoleum at the mo :)

oh my god

I thought i was the only manics fan left out there in this world full of heathens. I have all of their albums and play at least one album a day. I just love the way i can take refuge in richies lyrics when i am feeling down and unsafe. The songs really speak to me, and i am constantly finding new hidden meanings in most of their songs. My copy of the manic street preachers demos 88 - 90 is easily my most prized posetion as it is a really rare oficial bootleg. But keep your eyes open there must be more copys of it out there somewhere.

Go on the FD forums, there are loads of people on there. I thought the same even though I was on the forums because it all went a bit quiet but it's building back up again.

I'd love to have that. I'm not surprised it's a treasured item it sounds great

the holy bible is a great album.

and (please don't bite me for saying this) but i haven't been so impressed with their other stuff, as a whole.

faster is a brilliant song.

I agree that the early stuff is easily the best, but i find albums like lipstick traces and know your enemy are very relaxing, and life blood is just so cool. I find that gold against the soul is a lot darker in my oppinion than the holy bible, so please let me know what you think.

As for the demos 88 - 90 i would love to be able to share it with you all but it is one of these annoying cds that wont load in to the pc cos of the copy protection stuff on it, but i will see if i can come up with something. It has the suicide alley stuff on it, and although it has very little polish it is deffinatly a very interesting album to any manics fan. It shows the roots of the song motercycle emptiness, which was great to be able to hear. Any way i am going to shut up for a bit cos i could go on for hours about the manics.

I love every album. I know that sounds so 'fan-like', that I should love anything that they come out with, but I pretty much have done. With the exception of So Why So Sad, Love's Sweet Exile, Life Becoming a Landslide and Autumnsong. Which to be fair isn't bad if you think they've had 7 studio albums and a b-sides album(which I also loved ). I don't understand why people slag KYE and GATS off as I think they are two of their best albums but that's just my opinion. Anyhoo I'm sounding like such a freak on this thread so I'd better shut up for a while at least.
I'd love to hear that compilation so if anything happens, let me know

GATS sucks and KYE is a mess, it could have been so much better. I love Nicky to bits but his lyrics can be total dogshit at times.

I think my fav tracks have to be 4st7lb, little baby nothing, We are all bouregious now, and Mr carbohidrate. Mr carbohidrate makes me laugh, it just a total piss take. But I am a total fan i do like all the stuff they have done, they are talented and dont care about conformnity. I am very fond of the Richie era, and he is my all time hero, but the band have survived what happened to Richie and moved forewards and do deserve credit for that.

Any who on the demos 88 - 90 front i have been trying things all night and just managed to get it on to my hard drive so if you would like a copy send me a pm with an e-mail adress and i'll get a copy to you. (I am away Mon - Thurs so i will proberbly wont be able to get any out till after that)

I've also re-discovered them recently ... I do prefer the older stuff but they're great :)
