2g of marmite???!!!! I have had a pot of 2g (the recommended serving size) and it spread over 6 pieces of toast!!!! Holy mackorole!!! If the kids have 2g on their toast no wonder!!!! But a little bit of marmite can be very very good because of all the B vitamins and folic acid it contains.
Ha!
Beurocracy (sp?) gone mad!

Nah, it's because everybody is worrying about the obesity epidemic, so instead of teaching children the values of healthy eating (which requires time and money), they're just banning foods deemed unhealthy, which is going to do wonders to eating disorder rates in future years.

The thing is, they are over-simplifying everything. With this new traffic lights system, lots of foods that are actually good for you are being portrayed as bad. Anchovies are now bad for you because they have a high salt content even though they contain high levels of Omega 3 etc. Butter is very fatty so we're being encouraged to use heavily processed spreads full of e numbers. The same goes for cheeses.

Instead of teaching people about moderation and balance, they just slap a label on everything saying "healthy" or "not healthy" and with a lot of foods such as Marmite it's really not that simple.

and they always neglect to mention that most "low fat" products have a HUGE sugar content! Stupid.

But I still agree with the marmite ban. Ick!
