Thanks Restless, yeah noticed in first chapter that she uses Amplified version so will just make sure I have my bible nearby to see what it says there when she uses it. Glad it was good though.

I'm looking for a good bible study, or prayer study book or somethin like that, which i would be able to easily use on my own. My Fiance is not a believer, and i kinda got burned at my last church. Anyone have any suggestions?

Soul Survivor do a 'Bible in a Year' study, but that's quite intense.
There are lots available free online, some you can get emailed to you on a daily or weekly basis.

I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad,

I just got a free version for my Kindle so I don't have to lug mine to my sister's for Christmas. It's the ESV version but I usually use the New Living Translation.

There's something called Essential 100 which guides you through the bible in snippets in 100 parts to get a picture of the whole. I haven't started it yet as using something else but it is supposed to be good.

Do you mind me asking what put you off church as it is very difficult to be a christian alone and that wasn't the way God intended it?

My church was not entirely receptive to single mothers, especially mothers with mixed race children. And my church prior to that fell apart. There was lying, infidelity, and many other things from the head of our congregation. Everything crumbled. Now most of us are displaced or apart of a church we aren't happy/comfortable with. I'm trying to find a new church but it's awkward and difficult.

Aww, sorry you had such experiences but please don't give up on finding a good church. Whereabouts are you if you don't mind me asking? Maybe someone on here is in your locality and could recommend some for you to try.

Right, we need to make sure we ask peeps on this thread. I'll try and remember to repost about it tomorrow.

If you send me a pm, I have a friend who lives in Colorado who is a Christian who might be able to help. I am aware that is a massive geographic location but you never know.

Got to go to my mums on Friday its my birthday then the fallowing day is my mums on Christmas eve...it will be the first year since my dads death and its important that we go up on the 23rd as it will be the last time we see each other until after the Christmas as we cant go down there on Christmas day as there isn't any buses to my mums and we cant afford a taxi as there are 3 times more than normal for Christmas day because we have our cats and we cant leave them on there own for 2 nights as they would need to be feed...We have to go by bus to see my mum and am terrified of buses because of so many people on them on Friday it will be worse because its 2 days before Christmas and everyone will be going to be shopping with all there Christmas stuff ...my husband is coming with me and i have medication to take if i feel am getting upset by the amount of people that are there
but am still having anxiety attacks thinking about it....it so bad that i want to cut at the moment i know that cutting wont make any difference to the amount of people there but its the only way i know how to cope with this and am unsure what to do about the buses we cant take a taxi as it will be too much as my mum lives 20 miles away the buses take 2 hours to get there as well
I don't know what to do am so scared please pray that we make it through
