try agency work. Now that's tight. you're hours are monitored to the last minute. minimum wage down to the last penny.

and the work is inconsistent, so you don't get called into action too often, or at short notice.

I was once signed up with two agencies at once. I still went for weeks without work.

I've had my fill of agency work. Can't be doing with it. no more.

You want a terrible job; call centre. try and sell kitchens or double glazing to people.

I want to get back to my job, 6-9 at night 4-5 nights a week being a telemarketer in a call centre, I have to wait til bloody October til I can work.

Pay's good, but it's danger money, basically.
It's one of the ultimate You Are Not A Real Person, humiliating kind of jobs.

Then there was the running across London via 3 tubes/DLR/walking and getting lost with the A-Z at the last minute, trying to make lesson plans at the same time.

And the victories! Like coming out of Dalston Kingsland with everything I went in with, including my life!

And yeah. Agencies fool people.
Woolwich Arsenal is SO not Plumstead.
And Brixton is NOT Herne Hill.
Cos, you know, if they had said where it REALLY was, would people go there?!!!

i've worked in a call centre twice. Once selling double glazing, and the other selling kitchens.

Both times I ended up practically bedridden with depression. Nothing but abuse from everyone you're trying to talk to for weeks on end.

Don't know how all those indians do it.
