The Students' Veggie Cookbook! It's kept me alive, I'm sure. Really simple and cheap recipes, yummy too. It's written by someone who I believe was doing a degree in Nutrition so it's well thought out healthwise, she wrote it when she was at Uni and skint.

I'm not vegan though, I like butter too much.

I've pretty much been brought up as strict vegetarian, strict as to say wearing no leather and/or any materials that involve animal cruelty, no gelatin etc etc. My mum was good in the way that she gave us the choice once we (my sisters and me) were old enough to understand where meat was sourced from. There's four of us, two are vegetarian, the other two aren't. They have to cook the meat themselves though!

I myself am a strict vegetarian now, and animal rights protester =]

However, it looks like I'm heading in the direction of being vegan. Turns out the way they milk cows is likened to how battery farmed hens are treated =[

Mhm, the cows used for that method of milk production also only live for around 5 years instead of their natural lifespan of 25, and the male calfs are sold as veal.

Trouble is, it's becoming increasingly difficult to lead a completely guilt free vegetarian life...there's scandal after scandal. Ugh =[

I'm a vegetarian! ^_^
Have been since I was about 6ish I think, so a good 12 years now. The rest of my family are all carnivores, so to be honest I have no idea what converted me, I think I just went off the idea of eating meat.
I'd love to be vegan, but until supermarkets and restuarants really step up and make more of an effort to cater for them I just don't think I could. Also I have chickens so guilt free eggs :)
I love cooking my vegetarian meals though, I'll be sure to take some pictures soon :D
