Does anyone have any big plans for Self-Injury Awareness Day? It is March 1.

Please, share your plans!

Maybe we on RYL can do something together. I should be available that day, anyway.

Suddenly burn so pale?

the way I see it stigma is damaging... stigma prevents people from seaking help, prevents people from telling anyone if something is wrong, etc... I've known of people who after people saw their scars were bullied to the point of a suicide attempt...

Though this year SIAD and EDAW overlap which is making a lot of work for me lol 3 schools on the 1st about SI and then another 4 schools over the rest of the week for talks on EDs. as well as tonns of posters lol

I see my homeopath that morning. We need to have a serious discussion about the perceptions of my treatment process/aims. So, uh, that's my kind of selfish contribution!

I will be wearing orange/an orange bracelet. And if I was feeling braver I'd have done some kind of awareness thing with colleagues at work and/or made a display at the library where I work of relevant books. But it's too late to get approval for this, and anyway I'm not feeling so brave right now.

I've been too 'scared' in years past to openly participate in SIAD,
but this year I want to do something.
I just don't know what to do.

waging a war and losing the fight...

I bought 20 orange SH awareness bands and have been giving them to my managers/other staff at work. So far I have given out 4, and one person said she wanted some more for her family.

I am too scared to do anything major as NOBODY apart from medical people and a few managers at work know anything about me doing this.

Don't touch me

I am not my diagnosis
