i think you can recover - you just mau have a rtendancy to think about it

I haven’t self harmed since August. I'm not sure when I actually made the transition to thinking of myself as recovered. I know it didn't happen over night. It was like a really slow transformation if I can even call it that. It's like for a while even after I had stopped I still thought about doing it a lot but slowly I started thinking about it less and less now hardly at all. So I can’t really pin point a date or even an amount of time.

It depends on the person to be honest. Some people say after a few years they are 'recovered', some feel they will never 'recover'. It depends on your personal opinion really.
Though my personally I will probably never class myself as 'recovered' from self-harm, even when I haven't done it for years. It'll always be apart of me. xo.

I kinda think you can recover. I consider myself recovered, and it's been just over a year since I've self harmed, but I considered myself recovered before that. For me, it wasn't a length of time, it was a mindset. When I could promptly love myself, care for myself and express how I felt without self harm; I became recovered.
