Triggering (SI/Sexual Abuse) - Info using self-harm to re-create?

My thearpist thinks I use cutting to re-create the abuse(I cant c it as abuse) I've experianced and that I dissoiate now when cutting like she thinks I did during what happened.

I don't really know much about using SI to re-create abuse, I wondered if anyone else does or knows where I can get any info on it?

I've been told things like this too... and to be honest I do only SI in areas that were affected by the abuse...

I guess it ccould be a power and punishment thing caused by the abuse mindset?

"Women who hurt themselves" by Dusty Miller.
That's the book you need. :)

Is it really triggering? because at the mo I really don't want a book that gives examples with lots of graphic details or gives lots of examples of what is classed as abuse.

I didn't find it so, but you could always browse it in a bookshop or on Google books to get a rough idea.
