use your five senses.
1. look around you. what do you see? what colours are there? and how do things move? try to use adjectives to describe how things appear.
2. sound, what noises can you hear right now? how loud are they and are they annoying? is anything soothing? (i can hear the washing machine right now, so i know things are normal, just some clothes are being cleaned).
3. what can you feel with your hands? and are you warm or cool or just right? maybe you could push your hands against a wall as hard as you can.
4. are there any smells around? (i can smell cheese, which isn't very nice, but it's because i had a toastie earlier!) are they nice smells or yucky?
5. what can you taste? if nothing, perhaps go and carefully make yourself a drink, concentrating on what it feels like on your tongue, what it tastes, smells and looks like, the sound of the kettle boiling or the fizz of the pop in the glass.
these things are real!
maybe wrap yourself up in a blanket and find a distraction, like the RYL Arcade, or TV, or writing something, or talking here.
