Triggering (SI) - I am 37 and I self-harm...all alone???

I feel all alone, I know no one except me who self-harms. I am 37 and reading most self harm sights people are young...so that makes me feel even more alone. So am I all alone??????

I know no one who selfharms other than myself either... I'm 21, but there are a fiar few people on here who are older than myself. so, no, you are not alone.

You aren't alone. There are people in their 30's, 40's and I think one or two in their 50's around Vets. Unfortunately a lot of the self harm sites etc seem focused on younger self harmers but you are not by yourself in being older and still struggling with this.

Julilly, have no fear your not alone....im 42 lol...i used to self harm alot in my teens and early twenties...had a gap of 15 years and have relapsed in the last 2 years unfortunately....im quite new here but have found it a massive help already...hope you do too..xxx

I'm 38, 39 in March.
I didn't start physical self harm until I was in my late 20s.
I go through periodic episodes of harming in times of emotional crisis. Inbetween those times I constantly have to work at keeping my inner demons at bay.

I'm 27 and I do but there are many people here who are older than I am so Vets is a good place. I know it's disheartening being a "veteran" but you will find lots of friendly people here.

You are definately not alone. I am 46 and recently relapsed. I have been SH since I was a small child with many long gaps as an adult. When you are older you have advice and experience to pass on.
