MORE pigs!
I must be crazy.
I have 4 guinea pigs, a dog (plus hamsters and fish at my inlaw's place), and a baby, and I've somehow ended up agreeing to take on 4 more guinea pigs!
A lady wanted 2 males rehoming so I offered to take them and put them with my 4 males. Then she said "I dont suppose you want 2 females..." and I couldn't say no, so I'm having them too. They're indoor pigs though, so I'll keep them indoors til the Spring, otherwise the weather will be a shock to them!
I've just built the lean-to pig pen I meant to make before Harlan was born and didn't have time. The 4 are in there now and it's got mesh over it so they should be safer from the hundreds of cats we have around here. It means I can put them out in the morning and just put them in the hutch at night which is nicer for them. They've got plenty of hiding places in there, and half of it is solidly covered so if it's bad weather then they can shelter under there - or if, by some miracle, it's very sunny it'll give them shade too.
Hopefully *fingers crossed* when I go out later to put them away they won't have managed to escape, but even if they do, the yard is secure so they can't go anywhere. They'd just be at higher risk from cats and a bugger to catch!!
