URGH.
Norton is a complete w*nk stain. (nice bit of essex cussing. brap)
I've had my PC a year.
Meaning the free Norton 360 thing that I got with it, has expired.
Just renew it you say?
No, that'll cost me £54.99.
Norton can shove it up there money grabbing arses.

Anyone know a completly free legal(*wink*) allternative?

Avast Anti Virus is free and I advise you to get Ad Aware 2008 too. It gets rid of any viruses you would get from those shitty pop ups you get when your looking at some websites.

I use it and loooove it! =D

AVG is excellent, one of the best out there, beating many of the paid-for ones. Norton is rubbish, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

I downloaded AVG cos the IT people told me to.
But then it said it was outdated.
So if you can find a more recent one let me know!

I'm on Nortan and it never lets me down really.

It did once and that was because of what has happened to Danz, her trial version has ended and she needs to renew etc. I didn't renew mine so I got a trojan. =(

AVG is really good, also c cleaner cleans up your pc very quickly and is also free.

avg is one of the best anti-virus software programs there is

personly i don't use it , i use xoftspy anti-virus it is not free but it is well worth the money it is easy to use and it covers spyware and viruses

i've been using this product for a few years now and i would have to say it is never done me wrong

avg is ok one of the better ones out there but if you dont mind spending a little bit of cash each year this one is good
that or there is nod32 that has been voted the best but personally i think it is well over priced

My 'rents brought Norton 360 which i thought was stupid because it has a whole heap of added features you really dont need IMO

And yeah the renewals are ridiculous

I would recommend ESET nod32, for at least temporary anyway, they have free 60day trials ^_^
