ok ive seen the thread for those going to uni them smart people so this is a thread for those NOT going to uni, What would you have liked to have done etc if you had a chance to do your education differently and what were your dream jobs and stuff that you would have liked to have done if you could have gone to uni and
i would like to build pc's for a living and i would go back to college but the fear of failing yet again made me think why bother
I'm taking a year out to get some work experience.
So technically I'm not. But I'm hopeuflly going to be working witin the music or film industry, what ever the hell comes out of this year really.
I did spend a year after my GCSE's working though. I washed pots full time for 3 months until I felt like shooting someone. Spent a long time doing nothing, and living off nothing.
Then I decided to go to college. Best desicion ever.
i didn't go to uni, and i had a pretty crap time for a couple of years with unemployment etc but now im in a job ive been in for 2 and a half years, got it by chance, very lucky and i love it and the experience ive got from being here in great, i wouldnt have done well at uni, i dont have the confidence, the only thing i would have done differently is maybe tried a bit harder to get a job earlier. but im pretty happy where i am now, my dream job is to work in a library and im starting to work towards that now
I went to uni and dropped out. Now I love my job...so its not all bad :P
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
'Them smart people'
I'm smart enough without going to uni, ta. Psh.
I work as a barista/waitress, I'm interested in coffee but this isn't what I want to do. I'm only 19 and I have no idea what I'm doing with my life, but I figure I'm young enough so not knowing for a little longer isn't going to hurt me.
Thinking of going to college to be a florist, heh.
oh yeah living off loans and tesco value isnt fun.
But i love uni, so pity its my last year. If i dont get a job after i leave im going back to college to change area slightly, but yeah i do know what i want to do with my life.

I failed 2 years of 6th form so I'm going to college instead of uni next year. In some ways I'm looking forward to it, but in other ways I feel a bit sad that all my friends are going off to start their degrees and I have to spend another 2 years before I can start mine.
And also, In see how skint my uni friends are and I just think it's great being able to work full time :)
Totally agree with that.
to add to my earlier post, it's nice that being in a full time job meant that I was able to get married when I want to, yes I'm young (22) but if it's the right person and the right time then why not, if I would have been at uni then I probably wouldn't have been able to get married as I wouldn't have had the money.
I'm happy with my life the way it is, and also, my hubby went to uni and did computer science, now he works in a school and nothing in his job relates to stuff he did at uni, was it really that useful??
I was in school till they cut off my financial aid and sent me a bill for $2000. Sooo, I'm not going back for awhile, haha.
I'd like to go back and finish my film degree though. Or just keep independently making movies. Or write novels. Or make music. Or just do something creative. Regular 9-5 jobs make me depressed, lol.

but the point is he wouldnt have that job if he hadn done computer sciecnce at uni. Anything that involves the coumputer maintance and science and stuff of a computer you cant get a job in the field without having gone to uni and got the degree even tho i can build and do alot of pc repair i dont know it all but if i have a uni degree they will think different and i will know the same stuff in my opinion that sucks ass
If i went to University, i would study either computer programming, electronic engineering or cryptography i would probably be happy in any field of computer science.
I wasn't going to go to uni. I was going to just go into work and stuff, but I am now going to Uni coz the teachers association pay my tuition fees because I am "promising"..*cough*
