What did I get myself into!*may mention christmas!*
Oh Ive made a very foolish decision. I work at a primary school, this year theyre doing a nativy as usual with a contemporary twist. So they were looking for volunteers to help with things and I must of had a momentary lapse in judgement/sanity because I decided it would be a good idea to offer with helping to make christmas costumes.
Bear in mind I cannot sew.At all.
So i was given piles of material and asked to make SEVEN costumes.instead of admitting defeat and telling them that actually, I cannot sew,I decide it cant be that hard.
This was last week. Now I have made 4 costumes. I decided to make Joseph first, started sewing, it was going well,I thought it looked fine until I took it to school and the poor kid I subjected the costume to got stuck and I had to cut him out whilst wispering that I would give him a sticker if he didnt tell.
Thinking my mother was a dab hand at costumes(she had me and my sister to make costumes for and she cant sew) I ask her how she managed. The answer? She used a glue gun.
So I am now glueing costumes together and hoping theyre done by monday.
Pray that the costumes dont fall apart halfway through the nativity!!
Feel free to laugh at my misery :p (and any parents etc had any costume mishaps to add?)
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
i dont have time anymore! and have no money to go anywhere and buy some even if i did!

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.
i was thinking about staples but like.....if the kids fiddle with them and they come off etc its a pic risky.and duct tape sounds good, might be a final resort :P. ill post pics if i get them done before monday :P

You could use safety pins, and pound shops have fabric glue. If there'sany way you can get to some kind of craft shop or sewing shop or such get some wonder web - it's this ribbon stuff that stcks two pieces of fabric together when you iron them - full instructions come on the back of the packet.
Or next year send them to me :) I'm doing a degree in drama and technical theatre and love doing costumes.
ohhh i might have to make a dash to pound land now. im now doing the last two with a hangover. they still dont look that good to me but...im sure itll be fine!plus theyre wearing clothes underneathso it wont be that embarassing.lambchop, i have learnt my lesson and wont be volunteering for this next year!
And Nat loads of people are saying....OMG YOU GAVE HIM A STICKER???!!!! all I can say is i couldve bribed him with sweets or something, but im a good person and a sticker was the way to go and it was a seriously horrible experience for him,he got well and truly stuck! :p

LOL I understand the power of the stickers being on supply they work wonders and as schools are health promoting I know how sweets can not be given - if only apples had the same power :)
Yeh im not sure oranges have the same power either!i hope he doesnt tell his mum what he got the sticker for ahahaha.
