UK Rehab?

My best friend has just confessed to me that he has been addicted to oxycodone stolen from his dad for the last eight months. He has told his parents and has an appointment with his doctor tomorrow to talk about where to go from here.

I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about drug addiction treatment on the NHS. Will he get to go to rehab or is that just for people with private health care?

There are rehab program's on the NHS but it is likely he will be treat in the community initially.

What's his age?
It's more than likely he'll be refered to substance misuse support centre to meet with a Key Worker anywhere from once a fortnight, to 3 times a week. Rehab in the sense you seem to mean is reserved for either criminal addicts, Class A addictions, chronic addictions (asin years not months) and for drugsd that result in extreme withdrawal. I'm not familiar with the substance you have mentioned, but I'm assuming it's not a high dose else surely his father would have noticed?

But yea, anyway. He'll be treated in the community due to the cost/type of addiction
