Am I losing it?

I don't know, I've always had mild anxiety about things, social situations in particular but I think I might be losing a grip on reality a bit here..There's a voice in my head which confirms suspicions of my own that there are people who are out there who intend to harm me and that they're monitoring my every move. It presents itself as a kind of 'guide' to help me but also insults me at the same timeWhat's more the voice tells me that I should trust no one as they could betray me to 'them'. I feel as if if i am being constantly watched and am worried that my food may be being tampered with..
Am I overreacting? I feel trapped and don't know what to do..

If you're able to ask yourself that, then you could be a lot worse mentally speaking... When you can't even worry about losing it, then you've already lost it. At least that's how I feel.

I'm pretty much in the same situation, so I can relate to how you're feeling. And I think you're right to feel concerned. You're not overreacting at all.

Have you talked to your doctor about it ?

have you spoken with a professional about your experience? If not, I would suggest that you consider doing so, particularly if you are feeling distressed about it.

But I do have a few questions:

the voice that you are hearing is it a different voice to your own?
Do you hear it internally or externally?

Sometimes anxiety and mood disorders can manifest our thoughts and fears into more animated "realities" for want of a better word and as such can be experienced almost outside of your own realm of thinking when they are really your thoughts to begin with.

So for example, someone who is severely depressed might start experiencing their suicidal thoughts as a voice that says "they must die because they aren't worth living." When in actual fact the individual is experiencing intense suicidal feelings and is considering if suicide is the answer.

I am wondering if some of what the voice is saying to you are shared concerns/ fears that you experience? Do you feel in some way that people are monitoring your every move? Do you feel that people are out to harm you?

Either way things are obviously somewhat difficult for you, and I think it would be a good idea to speak with a GP or therapeutic professional to assist you in managing your current experience.

Take good care of yourself, reach out if you need too.
Be well.

life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself.

Thankyou for the responses(:
I haven't told anyone about it, it's like I have two different frames of mind; kinda like rational and totally irrational. When I'm feeling rational I know that what I'm feeling isn't normal and just in my head but at the same time I can't get some thoughts out of ny head like the fact that the voice (which I think must be internal) tells me I can't trust anyo ne at all and therefore I should not under any circumstances tell anybody what is going on in my head. I'm also starting to get the suspicion that my food and water are being poisoned which means I find it even harder to know who to trust..

Sounds like a very scary place to be hun
My advice would be to visit your GP because your anxiety is leaving you with very little quality of life
