Scared of intruders in my house

I don't use this site often so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place or whatever or even if I'm just being really stupid and melodramatic to post this at all so yeah, sorry/:
Basically, I'm just really scared that people have managed to break into my house and are waiting for me so they can kill me, like in a horror movie when the killer is waiting for theory cictim..It sounds so stupid and childish, but I'm constantly on edge, any tiny noise terrifies me and I can hardly stand to be in a room by myself, let alone home alone..

You're definitely not alone!
I'm the same way. Especially since my house (nine people besides me, all smokers) go in and out all the time during the night, I'm so used to hearing the door open and close (we never lock it) that it one night it could be a robber or worse and no one would ever know. I'm the only one in my family who thinks like that, lol.

No advice to offer, but you can PM if you need anything.
Take care honey

I hope you managed to get some rest in the end, Cally.

Can I check - Does anyone else live in the house with you, that you could let know how unsettled you are feeling right now? They could even help you look around the house, or could you get a friend to come around and keep you company for a little while?

Has anything specific happened recently that would make you feel more stressed or anxious at the moment?

Roiben x

no offense but why wouldnt you lock your door? if anything it voids insurance if someone did break in.

op you need to remember this kind of stuff is rare to happen, ad long as you make sure everything is locked and secure when you go to bed. People break in when they look for things like an unlocked door or window, its less likely to happen when everything is locked up as it would mean making noise which would wake people. Other than that you could look at getting more security if it helps.

I completley understand. I feel the same aswell. And today was the first day I stayed home alone for a while and I will admit I had my music on so I could not hear any noises.

Thanks guys(: yeah I live with my parents but I don't want to say anything to worry them /: aha I'm already pretty paranoid about security so I always make sure everything is locked up, but I just can't get over the idea that someone is already in the house watching me. Gah.
I've smoked a fair amount of weed in the last few months so I'm not sure if it's been triggered by that or what.. /: thanks for the advice(:
