Hun, I think it depends very much on the case/s you would be on jury duty for. Some can take a very long time and can be very upsetting and stressful and they are only taking your personal circumstances into account. They don't want to make you worse by putting you through jury duty.
My dad was a reporter for the local jury proceedings and has said that some cases can be extreamly upsetting to hear, and can be very stressful to go through.
Please don't take this as a personal rejection hun, it is purely done to keep you safe and in your best interests.
