I think it really depends on the situation and you personally: I think had I been trying to recover alongside another SIer, I would have been triggered every time they slipped. My boyfriend at the time and my therapist were fantastic support. However, I also know that at times I desperately wanted somebody to truly understand what I was going through. However supportive my boyfriend was, he didn't have a real understanding of how I felt.
If you think that you can support each other then that's fantastic; it might also be worthwhile having a little bit of outside help too, just to put things in perspective when you need it.
