i don't know exactly what doctors count as depression but i agree with you that suicidality suggests something more difficult than 'low moods'. if you don't fit a diagnosis of depression, it suggests your problem is something else, maybe one she hasn't got a label for, which doesn' make it any less of a problem, just because you don't 'fit'. you could ask her to explain more her reasons for describing it as low mood andwhat she thinks could be helpful. from that you could maybe understand more whether she sees you in the same way you see yourself and go from there.
