when i was in shool [just tuned 16] i emailed one of my teachrs for a chat - not specifying anything but she knew that i was in a bad place and was getting a bit depressed - she'd seen the sigs - but she agreed
before we like got talking she said told me where she legally stood:
# because i was only 16 - if she felt that i was a risk to myself she would have to tell someone [there wa a special person in school fo that]
# if she felt i could be in danger - she would have to tell
# and if she felt it was needed - she could contact my parents
[bearing in mind she didnt know about my SI] so it could be a it different
also since i been at college i told a teacher about SI - he checked out the legal crap too
# if you say your harming - the teacher can refer you to a councellor/ reccommend you see a councellor/ tell the councellor about you
thats all they can relly do though
