i think def possible, although-i think the main way to make cutting safe is not actually anything to do with the cutting...... i think making sure you use something that is a clean as poss, ideally only using the "tool" once then making sure you clean your wound and put a sterile dressing on after.
i was reading an article once that some hospitals were consider a "safe haven" type thing for sh-ers to get tools, eg sterile packed blades etc, like in drug clinics where they go to get sterile needles from. was very interesting but majorly controversial to lot of people. i think i was very good idea, also makes me as a sh not feel so ashamed cos its like someone understands a bit better.
