Well, it is a good thing that you've told her, at least in my opinion.
If you'd really like for her to understand, perhaps you can sit her down and explain it to her, like what a problem it is, what else is going on in your life. Parents aren't always the smartest or most knowledgeable people. Your mom might have thought it was just something you did like once or twice.
Sometimes parents will care about nothing at all, and then the huge stuff will go right over their heads. You deserve a solid adult behind you. Good luck.
