like you i havent actually come out and told a lot of people, once i told my friend at time, now best friend that i had done it (this was about a year ago) and then when it all flared up in about jan i just said you know what i told you when i was drunk..... and she filled in the rest. another person i told recently i text adn said now dont freak out but.....
however on reflection dont think this is the best idea, things get very confused over text.
maybe you could invite him over and warn him by saying i want to tell you something important but please hear me out. i want you to know cos your my closest friend. at least then he can try and prepare for something and also you can have a long chat, if he's got any questions. he might not be able to understand it but i sure he'd rather know cos it would prob break his heart if he thought you were hiding things from him.
