My Shadow
Some people want the sun to shine
So they can catch a tan.
They go on holiday to warm places
Like Cyprus or Milan.
But I don't really care for
That soft warm summer glow,
Playing on the golden sands,
Catching frisbees people throw.
Why I want the sun to shine,
It's simple don't you see?
Is so I can see my shadow
Walking beside me.
For as long as I have a shadow,
I'll never be alone.
So wherever that bright sun does shine,
Well that shall be my home.
I found this poem in an old notebook and I think I wrote it, but I'm not 100% sure.
Has anyone heard it before?
If not, it would have been written last year, when I was 13.
