Lora,
If you cut you may feel better for a bit, then you will feel regret for SI as well as all of the other emotions.
See your doctor about your meds. There is nothing wrong with taking psych meds, all they do is help the chemistry and nerve function in your brain. They are not uppers and they are not magic, they just help correct an internal system that isn't functioning very well.

Knowing that the emotions are going to break over you like a wave, instead of letting the wave break on your head and bash you and carry you and mess you up, might you hold your breath for a bit and dive into the base of the wave where even though you will feel it, you won't be so tumbled by it? As a metaphor it's weird but I hope you understand. Sometimes in real life when you're swimming in surf diving into it seems weird but it works. Dive into the emotions and work with them, not against them.

Own that you have the emotions but please don't let them destroy you.

My husband is my best friend.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.
