I think the Chat Mods have made their position more than clear in this thread and I really don't see the cause for further debate.

The fact is, swearing is offensive to a significant proportion of individuals, regardless of how comfortable the minority may be with it. What is more, if RYL were riddled with such language, it could not be perceived as a positive trait for the website to posses. This is why the rules exist and also why the Mods work so hard to enforce the *spirit* of them in as fair a way as possible.

I'm sure the Chat Mods will amend the rules so as to be more explicit in this area if it is deemed really necessary. Sadly debates such as these, where members seem determined to find out the absolute limit of acceptable RYL conduct will only force the Mods to create draconian site rules designed point out what should already be plainly obvious to members.

Please members, let's have some common sense shown here.
