I just read "Cutting" and found it to be very well written and it is obvious that the man knows what he is doing and understands. It's written for parents, therapists, and self-injurers. I've been wanting to read this one (A bright red scream) for a couple of years now but haven't been able to order it. It's definitely something I plan to read, as soon as I can get it. I also want to read "The luckiest gilr in the world" which is also by Steven Levenkron (Cutting) but it's a novel about a self-injurer (fiction).

"...that incremental suicide of turning your life into a dream, to make being awake as similar to sleep as possible. Drowsily, lazily, dry-mouth your way through the day's ceremonies, fumble your way back into the dew-bather you never really left, draped in brown, brown now all around, the haze!" - Russell Brand on drug addiction.
