Probably because Americans invented personal computers, their operating systems, mobile phones, the internet, Facebook, twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat, Steam, dART, iTunes, MySpace etc. I don't don't what device you're on but go back to its development and you can thank an American (not that they would care).
