I am currently:

Hi Mark, I'm not sure if it would help to turn up at Ty Illtyd like you say, I believe they do have a duty of care, but they are likely understaffed like they always previously have been, you may see an SW or CPN if you were to turn up, but it's unlikely you'd see a Psych, as Auror suggested, perhaps getting an advocate may also help, the advocate for Brecon also covers Ystradgynlais, and I have had her help and assistance before, perhaps if you feel up to it, she may be able to write a letter on your behalf to try to get you a psych appointment, and try to ensure they honour and stick to that appointment, if you feel up to it you can contact her, Kirstie Morgan, Telephone: 01874 711661, extension 2496, or Mobile: 07967808145, or you could email her: kirstie.morgan@wales.nhs.uk

I hope this helps a little Mark, also I don't know if Kaleidoscope have in Brecon like WCADA drug and alcohol services down here, access to the dual diagnosis team, complete with CPN's SW's and Psych's, maybe it'd be worth asking and give it a shot to see if they can help, just a thought, I will try and find out, if there is a dual diagnosis team in Brecon, but may not see the head of services to find out, for a month, as unfortunately I saw they Friday, and I only usually see them once a month, but if any of the others in the team know then I may be able to find out sooner.

I hope you do manage to get the help you need, I know from personal experience and all the fighting I've had to do to access the services I'm entitled to, just how rubbish services are in our area, but keep shouting Mark, you need to get your voice heard.

There should also be a Commissioning and Support Team as part of the Local Area Planning Board (Powys County Council), who may also be able to guide you about provision of available services :)

You could also try getting some help with this, from tenancy support officer, either with Gwalia or the council, perhaps it may be a good idea to take someone with you, to back up the way your feeling at the moment, perhaps preventing services sending you away, having my counsellor to go with me to a psych appointment, was the best thing I ever did, as it gives them insight from another professional on how your mental health is affecting you.

Good luck, I hope your successful in getting a psych appointment :)
