In the short term (next five minutes) cutting may help slightly, but would it make a difference in the long term?
I know how bloomin' hard it is to get through times like this, but it is possible. You need never cut again - I try to remember that when I'm in that 'zone'. Its hard, painful and horrible, but you CAN not cut.
Would talking about why you feel like cutting help? Sometimes I find just telling someone what has triggered me helps. It some how makes things seem smaller when I tell someone else. I wish I'd have talked to someone before I cut yesterday. A few hours later the relief was gone and I was left with more emotional pain than I had before.
