I think the time I started SI'ing, I was having problems with some people anyway, and it got to the point where I just couldn't take it anymore so I looked towards SI as a sense of release and just generally to calm me down.
Like Smile said, I was in a different state of mind at the time.
And also, with what Smile said about the whole addicting thing. Agreed.
