I would say what have you go to lose by taking the tablets? As surely the chance of getting better is worth a shot? Have you been referred for any therapy?
Some side effects go away once your body gets used to them. I dont remember having any side effects when I was on sertraline (except when the chemist gave me a specific brand because it used to make me feel sick and dizzy. I got fed up of taking them because of that issue so I gave up taking them, I am now on fluoxetine).
