With regards to training, there is a lot of good information that is quite concise on what mediation is and how to facilitate it. It mostly revolves around work situations, but the actual practice remains the same for the most part.

Sounds like a great idea, just one thing that you should bear in mind (coming from personal experience!), is that if the situation involves personal feelings and perceptions, mediation probably won't help. It comes down to a he-said-she-said situation (which may be helped by logs), but the intention and the meaning behind can be tricky to pin down. It's also very difficult to prevent the people involved becoming defensive (which is only human), so as to keep the situation on a positive slant. Something to bear in mind.
