Do you have anyone that could pick you up if you pass out?
I know in my case, the paramedics wouldn't have to take me to hospital if I had someone come and pick me up, but because I don't and have to go on public transport, they have to take me to hospital, I think to cover themselves more than anything.
Or maybe if you got them to phone the staff and the staff could tell them that you didn't need to go to hospital?
