I agree that parents need to take more responsibility for what they let their kids watch, however, what with nearly every child these days having a phone, internet etc, they see what's out there. Even if your child doesn't have that stuff, their friends will.
Quick, take away little Timmy's internet privileges, in case he sees something inappropriate and obscene, like a Miley Cyrus video!
Personally I think everyone is overreacting. It was tacky, trashy "entertainment", which is exactly what you'd expect from the VMAs. It just came from an unexpected person, so now everyone is taking it too seriously.
