Most people who were on chat years ago don't even go there anymore... it's even very different than it was last year.
The best way to get people in chat to talk to you is to go in so they get to know you and you get to know them. A lot of people are shy around people they don't know (something that I figure should be understood here) and feel uncomfortable openly chatting to people who never ever come in chat. I figure this is fuelled when it is people seen on the forums a lot but never in chat. Because you figure they are avoiding us because we're so "scary and cliquey" that it's a bit awkward when they do come in. Also, I've been coming here for a couple years and at least twenty times a week I'll go into a very busy room in chat and nobody will say hi to me (like just now! :D). A lot of the time people completely ignore me. But hey, that's life. I personally haven't made many friends or conversations via the forum. As I find it currently very, very, very, very cliquey, much more so than chat has been in a long time.
