Obviously it's your choice, but I would be wary if it directly says not to take them. Given your age and some of the issues you've had with dosages of medication etc, it could be a little risky.
Perhaps speak to a pharmacist and see if they can recommend you anything else? If you're not doing so already, it might also be worth reviewing your sleep hygiene (avoiding caffeine beyond the afternoon, having a bath before bed, avoiding screens directly before bed etc). Getting into a settled routine is really the best idea.
