In a way, believing in nothing is just as strong a belief as believing in something. The point of faith is that there is no proof. If humans could prove that God existed, then God wouldn't be what people believe He is, which is something beyond human comprehension.
I've also often been jealous of people who seemed to have such a solid faith, but it always comes from somewhere, and it won't mean anything unless it does. Not existing is the most terrifying thing I can think of also. I don't know what to tell you about that. Then again, the more you do while you're alive, the more of yourself you'll leave behind in others and in the world around you, so in a way, you'll never really be gone.
