I am so sorry that someone you thought you could trust with this hurt you by essentially dismissing it. It was incredibly brave of you to tell someone in the first place and although it may be disheartening please don't be put off by confiding in someone else. Sometimes it really does pay off. I got incredibly drunk on a work night out the last month and told someone that I was a cutter in a stupid drunken confession.
