I am currently:

I had hypnotherapy when I was 15, so a good while ago now!

I don't really know that it actually 'helped' anything specifically - I had hypnotherapy because I was very anxious, and I still have anxiety now! But it did help at the time because I was very anxious and tense and stressed and it gave me time to just relax a bit, if that makes sense? And in that sense it kind of helped because it helped me learn to just take time to relax sometimes, which I think is still helpful.

I am very cynical about things like that, I was very cynical about it and I don't really 'believe' in all that sort of thing. But however it works, it did get me into a relaxation state so that certainly wasn't a bad thing!

I had it on the recommendation of our asst. headteacher at my secondary school though - he had it to help him stop smoking and said it helped him a lot, and he had another member of his family who had used it for various things and also found it helpful. So I know there are people who find it really helps.

Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble - but if you do decide to try it, remember you can always just give it a go for one session. If you come out of there thinking it's not for you, you don't have to go back. Good luck either way! x
