Who is saying that it can cause a bad reaction means that it should be made illegal? I can only speak for myself, but my response was more to refute the idea that it has no ill effects on people, when it patently does.

Smoking weed and drinking alcohol can be inherently social activities (weed possibly more so than alcohol due to the sharing of it), but it is when things cross a line that most people start to get worried.
