First of all..... CONGRATULATIONS on 8 months... thats' fantastic.

Your boyfriend I'm afraid, is very much wrong... a person who hasn't cut in years can still feel urges.

Try writing down all the things that you are finding hard to cope with and try and break them down into smaller and more managable problems and challenges.

If you are looking for a release of emotions... have you tried screaming into a pillow?... punching a pillow?... going for a run?... tearing up paper?... squeezing a tomato?...(that one is particularly satisfying especially goes squidge!) If you over come these urges now... think how much stronger you are going to be when urges come in the future?

If you do however end up cutting, don't let it ruin your recovery... theses things happen. Slip-ups are as much a part of recovery than stopping. Good luck and keep strong. Take care

Soon... Now will be then...Today will be yesterday... Present will be past...And thought will be memory... So...Live for the future! Make your future how you want it!
